"The trees down the boulevard stand naked in thought,
Their abundant summery wordage silenced, caught
In the grim undertow; naked the trees confront
Implacable winter's long, cross-questioning brunt."
- D. H. Lawrence, Winter in the Boulevard

So Monday, I was lamenting the arrival of snow, and today I'm wondering why the blizzard that has covered the Midwest has only left us with a few inches and a bunch of slush!!!

So yes, I wish we had gotten dumped on. As long as it's going to snow, bring it on!

Out shoveling I was enjoying the quiet, peacefulness that comes with snow. I guess I had forgotten. As crazy as all of our lives are, I think we need to embrace any moment of quiet we are blessed with. It was brief, but the interlude of stillness has stayed in my soul for the rest of the afternoon.
